Twists are used whenever it is desired to rotate the plane of polarization of the waves in a waveguide transmission line. All units are precisely formed to the degree of twist called for while maintaining a uniform cross section of the waveguide. These two factors are of primary importance in reducing reflections due to discontinuities in the waveguide and mismatch at the flanges. Ordering Example: TW12R-90 is a 90 degree twist in WR-12 waveguide with round flanges.
